about me

Like mentioned on my home page; I have been doing art since I was 5. I got inspired by cartoons, anime, comics, etc. My American favorites were Winx Club, Monster High, Steven Universe, Regular Show, and Adventure Time plus more.  My Japanese favorites were Ouran Highschool Host Club, Chobits, Pokemon, and others.

When I joined middle school I felt like getting more "serious" about art. I noticed a lot of kids my age at the time (10-13) were starting to draw more and some were becoming great at it. I became inspired by a few girls I would see draw in class. So I started drawing in class. I would draw on my own paper, other peoples paper, my school work, the teachers white boards, the desks, the walls even. I became obsessed with art so much so that I got in trouble almost everyday because I wasn't able to pay attention in class due to the distraction of drawing.

I was very good at drawing for my age (10-13) I can say that because now being at a professional level, I knew I had the technical ability. I was still bullied for my drawings. Mostly because they were anime drawings and oh boy didnt the kids hate that. To the "cool kids" anime was weird and dumb. It was the best thing ever to me so it actually bothered me so much to the point where I wouldn't draw anime in front of anyone. I was ashamed of myself.

I still kept drawing whatever I wanted at home. I would watch drawing videos all day like Marcrilley, Drawing with Jazza, etc. I would also read how to draw anime and manga books. I would also watch my favorite cartoons, pause them, and trace over the tv screen with printer paper my favorite characters. I can confidently say those are some of the reasons I am so skilled now. :)

Last part of my story for now. I had a huge bin full of my drawings and sketch books full of art. The bin was tall and colorful. It stood at the end of my bed. I even convinced my mom to get me a tablet at the time so I could start doing digital art. I had a lot of fun practicing with that. One night when I was 11 my house caught on fire. My family and I lost everything including my cat Violet. She was my best friend and my baby. I also lost all of my drawings of course. So for the next few years until I turned 18 I was burnt out of art because I felt discouraged that I lost all of my proof of progress. I am now in my 20's with more skill than ever. I know despite the fact that I lost what I loved I can make myself happy again. That is what art does for me.
